Alan Mathew is a high school senior at PPCHS and an aspiring writer. Plagued with cluelessness and clarity in unequal measure, Alan continues his effort to find the shapes of important ideas through the work he creates. “Leaf-Like Thoughts” was written while staring at a desk, wondering where the first list of goals had gone.

Like its namesake — the small, bright butterfly that grew from near extinction to rising numbers in our part of the world — this little literary journal aims to grow our love of writing and expand our community’s appreciation for the literary arts.
